I have tried to do everything I know in CSS style sheets and html floats and divs but cannot for the life of me figure out how to wrap text in a post. It works on other themes but not this one. Can anybody help me please?

I really don't understand your problems. Dkret supports EVERY way of WordPress floating an image.
1.
In the dialog to add your image choose left-align.2.
If you use the WYSIWYG-Editor of WordPress and a modern browser (chrome, firefox) you can hover klick an an image and change the position with the edit icon.3.
If you use the WYSIWYG-Editor of WordPress you can klick on an image and use the left align icon inside the toolbar of the editor.BUT please consider updating dkret. I don't know if dkret 1.9 supports all those ways. Although each version looks a lot like the first one, most optimizations take place in the backend of the theme and I changed a lot over the last two years. Beleave me.
Next time choose the child theme way to add your changes. This way you can update dkret without loosing your customizations.

Thank you for your response. I have dKret 1.9.8.
I have also tried all of the above alignment methods. For example on my last post this is my code:
[caption id="attachment_195" align="alignright" width="216" caption="iPad Tutorials for the iPad SDK"]<img class="size-full wp-image-195 " title="sdk-image-globe-20100127" src="http://rorylewis.com/apple/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/sdk-image-globe-20100127.jpg" alt="iPad Tutorials for the iPad SDK" width="216" height="251" />[/caption]
As a member of the iPhone Developer Program I have downloaded the iPad SDK 3.2 beta. I will keep you posted on progress with bugs, bells and whistles that may stray from pure iPhone programming. The iPad SDK tutorials will be added to my soon to be released book "Getting StartED with Making (iPad and ? maybe) iPhone Apps (Paperback)" The kit includes software tools for developing apps for the iPhone operating system used in both devices, as well as an iPad simulator. The simulator, allows us to lay out their application's user interface for the iPad's 10-inch multi-touch display.
Finally - I do not understand what you mean by a child theme. Can you help me please? Thank you.
